ICT INFRASTRUCTURE

Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA encompasses two fully air conditioned state of art Computer Labs - Lab-I: 70 Seater, Lab-II: 70 Seater and one Browsing Centre: 12 Seater. All computer labs and browsing centre are equipped with latest computers specifications like i3 7th generation Processors with 8 GB RAM, 1TB HDD with genuine software packages such as Windows 10/11 Operating System, Microsoft Applications & tools, and Cloud Antivirus Protection. All Computers in these labs are connected through Gigabit LAN and controlled from the Server Room; allowing excellent Internet connectivity at all points. SLS-NOIDA has 100 Mbps Internet bandwidth with fault tolerance and load balancing mechanism.

SLS-NOIDA campus is Wi-Fi campus, connected by Wi-Fi internet, including- the academic block, hostels and a significant part of open space. Students communicate with each other and with faculty members using the email or collaboration facilities via our online learning portal – Microsoft Office 365 Platform & Google workspace

ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC LEGAL DATABASES

IT Resources Team supports research, training and learning initiative amongst learners in association with Library Resources Team by providing training and access to modern resources of information - electronic legal databases. It includes following electronic legal databases: Manupatra; Hein Online; Ebrary; EBC Reader; AIR Online, Westlaw Asia; LexisNexis; SCC Online; CLA Online; Kluwer Competition Law; Kluwer Arbitration; Kluwer Trade Law; JSTOR; Emerald; EBSCO’S; Legit Quest: Maritime & Commercial Law Online library: SCOPUS; Web of Science; Sage Journals; International Taxation; Oxford Handbooks; Sage Research Methods; Nature Journal; McGraw Hill Education India E-Books; Pearson E-Books and many more…

Training to Use Electronic Legal Databases:

The Professionals from the electronic legal database providers are invited to conduct training sessions/workshops to introduce inform and train the learners with respect to use and utilization of these modern resources.

ONLINE TEACHING, LEARNING AND EVALUATION

Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA is using Microsoft Office 365 Platform to support Teaching Learning and Evaluation in the ‘Online Environment’. Access is provided to Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Stream, One Note and many other features.

Microsoft office 365 Platform is used in Online Meetings, Online Lecture Series, Certificate Courses, Training Programme and many more curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular activities.

CYOD - LAPTOP/TABLET CONFIGURATION

Keeping two factors in mind – one, the rapidly changing nature and pace of technology, and second, student preferences for a smart device, SLS-NOIDA decided to adopt a CYOD (Choose Your Own Device) paradigm. As part of this initiative, the following guidelines apply:

It is important for each incoming learner to be equipped with a tablet or laptop conforming to the minimum specifications outlined below.

  • The device should have genuine/licensed operating system (OS) software & licensed antivirus protection software pre-installed as specified below. Proof of ownership of the OS should be with the student and producible on demand throughout the duration of the enrolled program or while the student is present on campus – whichever is earlier.
  • The device should be capable of connecting to an external display device through a normal VGA/HDMI port for the purposes of showing presentations etc.
  • The device should be capable of connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Learner will be responsible for taking care of his/her machine including raising tickets for warranty/AMC support; adequate insurance coverage; and be responsible for its upkeep and maintenance as well as ensuring legal compliance of the system in line with OEM/ISV licensing policies throughout the duration of the program. Should loss/damage to the device occur, it will be the responsibility of the student to ensure timely rectification through the authorized service centre.
Recommended Minimum Configuration/Specification for Laptops:
  • Processor: Intel Core i3/equivalent AMD processor or higher
  • Memory: 2 GB or higher
  • Screen size: 14” or higher
  • Network interfaces: Wi-Fi 802.11g/n; 10/100 Ethernet; Bluetooth
  • Ports: USB 2.0; USB 3.0; VGA; HDMI
  • Hard Disk: 120 GB or higher
  • Operating System: Windows XP/Vista/7/8 or Mac OS Proof of ownership mandatory.
  • Office Productivity: Productivity suite capable of creating and editing Microsoft Office documents such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
  • Antivirus: Licensed
Recommended Minimum Configuration for Tablets:
  • Operating system: iOS/Windows
  • Screen size: 9” or higher
  • Network interfaces: Wi-Fi 802.11g/n; Bluetooth
  • Storage: 32 GB or higher
  • Interfaces: Ability to connect USB drives; Ability to connect to external projection device through VGA port
  • Keyboard: External (wired or wireless)
  • Applications: Office Productivity suite with capability to create and edit Microsoft office document formats such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL POLICY

Registration and Escalation of Complaints/Suggestions:

To facilitate faster and complete resolution of users, the complaint letter/email should contain: –

  • User’s name, PRN Number, Batch ID, contact details (e-mail id, phone/mobile number/s)
  • Detailed Written (letter/email) complaint
  • Copies of supporting documents/Screenshot of Error, wherever applicable
