The book entitled as ‘A Handbook on Right to Information Act, 2005 (Judicial Perspective on Right to Information’ is authored by Dr. Madhuker Sharma, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA. It is about the ‘scope and nature’ of meaning of ‘right to information’ within the statute. But, it goes beyond the scope of statute, when it traces history of freedom to information starting from eighteenth century; how it took shape of a right; how the Indian Judiciary contributed in development of nature of right to information as one of fundamental right. Interpretation of relevant statutory provision is discussed with the help of illustration. It further discusses how the Central Information Commission, with its decisions, has contributed in success story of the Act.
The book entitled ‘A Handbook on Code of Criminal Procedure’ is authored by Dr. Girjesh Shukla & Dr. Madhuker Sharma, Assistant Professors, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA. It is intended to provide wide horizon of understanding to students about criminal procedure, especially with thorough reading and appreciation of judicial opinions on various issues. This book covers limited areas of criminal procedure and deals with details scrutiny of judicial opinions over those issues. A critical look of judicial opinions would surely provide learners distinct way of thinking on procedural issues.

An Empirical Study on Working Conditions at Old-Age Homes in Delhi - N.C.R.' – March 18, 2017
We, at Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA, initiated a ‘Research Project (Empirical Study)’, titled as ‘A Study on Working Conditions at Old-Age Homes in Delhi - N.C.R.’ in January, 2016 with the objective to look into the institutional support provided to inmates at 'Old Age-Homes' established by State Authorities in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
The team, which conducted this study included Dr. Madhuker Sharma, Project Coordinator and Deputy Director, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA and Mr. Aditya Rajesh, Ms. Shikha Goel, Third Year Learners and Mr. Raghav Khandelwal, Second Year Learner, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA.
The project aimed at comprehensive and holistic study on ‘ground realities’ that exist at Old-Age Homes so that real impact of the laws obligating upon the States to take care of needs of old-age persons may be determined. Field visits were made to all the Old-Age Homes, established by the State Governments in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. Further visits were made to State - Recognized Old- Age Homes in Delhi & Haryana. Interview Schedules and Templates were used to collect the required information. The ‘Final Report’ shows the level & penetration of institutional support provided to an inmate at Old-Age Homes and accordingly, suggestions have been made for compliance of the relevant laws.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Chander Shekhar, Judge, High Court of Delhi released the Research Project Report on March 18, 2017.

‘Research Project (Empirical Study)’, titled as ‘An Empirical Study on Implementation of Wildlife Protection Laws’ was initiated in September, 2014 with the objective to look into the judicial approach, along-with approach of prosecution agencies, towards wild-life crimes was released by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shiva Kirti Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India on October 08, 2016.
The research team comprises of Dr. Madhuker Sharma, Assistant Professor & Project Coordinator and Ms. Akshiptika Verma, Ms. Apurva Bhardwaj, Mr. Deepankar Mishra, Ms. Dipshi Swara, Mr. Shrayansh Niranjan, Ms. Sumbul Khare, & Mr. Yashaswee Sarkhel, Learners of Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA as ‘Research Associates’.
The research report included analysis and interpretation of data and information collected on wildlife offences, cases filed before District Courts as well as Forest Divisions all over the India, for the period 1990-2010. The research team had travelled more than 30,000km across India to get the data and information. It also collected data and information through applications filed, under the Right to Information Act, 2005 before almost five hundred District Courts. It succeeded in collecting such information from around 300 District Courts & Forest Divisions. It further collected similar data from Wild-life Control Bureau, and the O/o Chief Wildlife Warden of various States.
SLS-NOIDA supports the established legal and institutional framework that promotes conservation and protection of wildlife. In September 2014, SLS-NOIDA in association with Wildlife Law Research & Resource Center (WLRCC), started working upon the subject-mentioned Research Project on ‘Empirical Study of Implementation of Wildlife Laws in India’.

In stage – I of the ‘project’, we have collected data on offences registered/filed under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 before District Courts all over India. Data collected pertains to around two hundred District Courts during the period 1990-2010. Further, we have gathered information of similar nature from more than one hundred Forest Divisions, from the O/o Chief Conservator of Forests of various states, and from Wildlife Crime Control Bureau. We have collected information on ‘appeals’ that were filed before various High Courts in India.
On August 22, 2015, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sachdeva, Judge, High Court of Delhi released the ‘Interim Report’ of ‘Empirical Study on Implementation of Wildlife Laws in India’, by SLS-NOIDA in association with Wildlife Law Research & Resource Center (WLRCC).

The study has tried to evaluate and analyze the return and risk of 25 hot stocks involved in the formation of BSE Sensex and check whether there is a difference in the return and risk of stocks 5 months before and 5 months after the corporatization of BSE.
