"I will reach for the stars no matter how hard it seems, and fly like a bird with the knowledge this journey brings."
-Semetra C. Vanison
Life to me is a Journey – You never know what may be your next destination. But I’ve always had faith in Life, Myself and my abilities because life, no matter, whichever journey it takes you through, you earn an extremely important aspect of life with every such Journey, and that is – EXPERIENCE.
Trust me, one experience makes you ten times wiser than the rest, and experience comes with learning, and learning comes with curiosity. This is what SLS-Noida teaches us. Rather, this is what “Life@SLS-N” has taught me in past one year – “Curiosity is the first step of learning.” When I say this I don’t just really restrict myself to the Academic sphere but to the life that we live here, bitter-sweet, from morning till the late evening, the peers, the friendship, the competition, the faculty, the director, the events, the small interactions- every activity you do, you learn and when you implement your learning, you gain experience and wisdom. For that you need to grab every opportunity. Opportunities? Oh, well there are many. It’s on you, how well you find them and use them wisely. SLS-N gave me several opportunities, and trust me when I say this I mean opportunities well used.
Life@SLS-N is just like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes it’s exciting and fun, at another point it is scary and at one point you have no clue where you are heading towards, things might seem upside down, but then you have faith and you know that you’ll land back on earth safely with a thrilling and a talk-about experience. It prepares you for the real battle that you will face after you graduate from here, so that when finally you move out, you are ready and have an outshining personality. The Journey isn’t a cakewalk ofcourse, but your constant efforts and optimistic attitude will definitely help in making one.
While you’ll be 24X7 busy with tutorials, interims, projects, viva, externals, co-curricular, extra-curricular, internships etc. and might just sit down all tried, thinking, “Why there are so many things to-do, just in a single semester?” You might not realise, but by the end of it you have done so much and gained tremendous amount of learning because at that point you are actually not learning academics so much so as you are learning to handle various situation in life amidst all this. So, by the time you are done with the semester, you have increased your potential to ten times than before.
It doesn’t matter how far you might rise. At some point, you are bound to stumble. If you’re constantly pushing yourself higher and higher, the law of averages predicts that you will at some point fall. And when you do, I want you to remember this:
“There is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction. Now, when you’re down there in the hole, it looks like failure. When that moment comes, it’s okay to feel bad for a little while. Give yourself time to mourn what you think you may have lost. But then, here’s the key: Learn from every mistake, because every experience, particularly your mistakes, are there to teach you and force you into being more who you are.”
Because SYMBIOSIS HAS 3L RULE, i.e., LAW, LEARNING, LIFE.
Hey Symbian! Happy Symbiosis!
